River Green Academy
Childcare learning center
We are members of the Cherokee County of Commerce as well as the Georgia Childcare Association. We support our local community with special events such as food drives, and "secret santa" for families in need.
At River Green Academy we use access codes for families to open the front door. Only current families have a code. We also have open windows to our parking lot that our director and assistant director can see from their desks as well as our owners can see from their office. All visitors sign in so that we have a record of their visit.
We have age appropriate and separated playgrounds. We hold monthly fire drills and have sprinklers through our building. Our director can be reached through our intercom system if a teacher needs anything. Our teachers are also trained in first aid and cpr should an incident happen. Mr. Brandon is a safety enthusiast. He strives to make River Green Academy the safest place for your children.
The Ogden Family
The Ogden family took over as new owners July 1, 2013. Brandon moved to Cherokee County in 1999 from Cobb County where he grew up. Jennifer has been here locally since she was a child. They love living here while still being close to the big city. Both love music, family, and friends and being involved in their church. River Green Academy families are considered an extension of our own. We want everyone to feel comfortable and that their children are loved like family.
We follow state regulations on training and requirements of our staff. We have certifications in CPR/First Aid, Fire Safety, and additional training as the state recommends. At different times of the year our staff attend classes to gain tools and skills they need to be great teachers. The childcare workers are encouraged to work towards their CDA certificate. Pre-K leads have a bachelor's degree in education and are certified by the state. The assistants have CDAs or state approved equivalent. The teachers complete yearly continuing education credits.
